Watch all the action as the KingGee Jack of All Trades TV series kicks off on Sunday 2nd December at 12noon on Channel Nine.

After visiting five states and competing vigorously for a place in the state finals the field has been narrowed down to the final eight tradies.  These tradies will now compete in a man on man knockout format, battling each other across multi-trade challenges to determine who has the best all round trade skills and physical ability on the tools and to take the title of the KingGee Jack of All Trades.

Contestants will participate in time and judged tasks, including carpentry, painting, tiling, floor laying, hanging windows and doors.

In episode one, at midday on Sunday 2nd December, viewers will meet the eight top tradies, see how they made the grade and get the rundown from the shows hosts: Luke Van Dyck, Lisa Jenkins and Michael Croaker. T

The battle of the Tradies begins when the first of the elimination rounds sees Sam Steel from Bendigo in Victoria, a self-confessed workaholic and carpenter, who is pumped and ready to take on Lachlan Wood from Mullalloo in Western Australia who is ready to go head-to-head for the title.

The TV action follows Sam and Lachlan as they race each other against time, skill and workmanship in Carpentry, Brick Work and Vehicle packaging challenges.

The winner from each of the first four episodes proceed to the Semi-finals then proceed to the Grand Final to see who takes the crown and title of the KingGee Jack of All Trades for 2007.

About this week’s tradies:

Sam Steel of Bendigo in Victoria is a self-confessed workaholic. He is a qualified builder and carpenter who runs his own carpentry business whilst still being employed full time with Paul Crawford building.  He picked up invaluable skills and experience early on during his apprenticeship and still works for the same company today.

At the age of 22 he built his own home including a fully operational gym in his shed, needles to say all his mates come cover to help oil the equipment.  Sam is passionate about football and played VFL with the Bendigo Bombers, he made the list but unfortunately had 4 knee operations in 12 months which has put a temporary hold on his playing career.

Sam said: ‘My strategy to win is – just go for it and put everything into it’.

Lachlan Wood of Mullalloo in Western Australia is a true Jack of All Trades.  He’s one of the youngest in the competition and would like to show the old fellas how its really done – to show them that time in a trade is not necessarily what you need, it’s being able to learn fast and figure out what’s required to complete a task. Lachlan has just formed his own business and is in partnership with his brothers.

He is an avid Surfer and has been a Surf Life Saver for 7 years. He also plays Rugby and won the 2007 Premiership with the Joondalup Brothers.  He doesn’t take life too seriously and is a bit of a larrikin. He is also passionate about snowboarding, and has recently returned from a snowboarding tour of the world with his brothers and is leaving in February to snowboard in Japan.
